What kind of ingredients do you use?
Our process embraces the "Farm to Table" mentality. All of our ingredients are purchased the day of preparation, are all 100% natural, and are never frozen or processed.
Is the process different for each flavor?
Yes! The time required for infusing and smoking depends on the flavor of the jerky. This is to ensure each and every bite is packed with flavor!
How long is it before the jerky is vacuumed sealed?
All of our jerky offerings are packed and vacuum sealed in under one hour from the completion of the smoking process!
Do all your flavors change monthly?
Yes & No. We roll out three new flavor adventures each month. The Three Stages of Heat are available every month. But there’s a catch – we only produce a small batch to guarantee premium quality. "When they’re gone, they’re GONE."
Can I special order a flavor I like that isn't available that month?
Yes! You can special order a favorite flavor that is not being offered that particular month. In order to do this, the minimum order size is 9 bags
How does shipping work?
We ship nationwide, so you can enjoy the freshest jerky right to your door no matter where you are. Most orders will arrive in 3-4 days and the rates depend on your shipping destination.
If I'm local, can I arrange for pick-up or drop-off?
Yes! depending on your distance from Nutley, NJ, we can definitely arrange drop-off or pick-up on a case-by-case basis. As a small family run business, we understand not wanting to spend additional money on shipping.

What is your return policy?
All sales are final. Since Ballou's Handcrafted Jerky is a perishable food product, we cannot accept returns on any items. However, cancellation before delivery or shipping will result in a refund unless it is a special-order flavor.
What is your freshness guarantee?
On rare occasions, even the best of efforts may falter. If ever you open a bag and find it swollen with air, do not eat it. Instead, let us stand by the pledge we’ve made to you.
