Our Mission
At Ballou's Handcrafted Jerky, our mission is to create delicious and healthy beef jerky options that inspire and satisfy our customers. We believe that good food should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their dietary restrictions or preferences. That's why all our jerky contains no artificial preservatives or coloring, and utilizes only fresh hand selected ingredients that are purchased on the day of preparation.
Our Ingredients
We believe that the key to great food is great ingredients. That's why we only use the highest quality ingredients in all of our jerky. We only use USDA Prime Eye of Round, all natural hand ground flavors (only the freshest fruits, spices and ingredients) and we are committed to using organic and non-GMO ingredients whenever possible. We also make everything from scratch in our FDA certified kitchen, so you can be sure that your jerky is always fresh and flavorful.
Our Process
Our Process
Making handcrafted jerky begins with the selection of the highest quality meat - which is never frozen. The meat is cut into portion specific slices and marinated for the number of days necessary to achieve the desired flavor. Our flavor infusion process utilizes a proprietary marinade comprised of different fresh ingredients to achieve our original and unique flavors. The meat is then smoked until it reaches the perfect texture before being vacuum sealed to maintain freshness.
